"To be great is to be misunderstood"
Isn't that the truth? I mean--take the Justice League. It's... kind of hard to get more great than that. And yet--who are some of our biggest enemies? World governments. Especially the US government. I mean, come on. We're trying to help people, here. We're not trying to take over the world. We're not political. We're the Justice League. It's... we're just trying to help.
I really do get why people got nervous. There was the Justice Lords thing--if you don't know what happened, I don't want to talk about it--and the time Superman went crazy (okay, yeah, that was Darkseid's fault, but he still did a number on people's confidence in him--yes, I still know it wasn't your fault, Supes). And that time with the Thanagarians--but that wasn't the Justice League (sorry, Hawk Girl, but it wasn't), even though we took some of the blame. So, yeah. We're a bunch of super-powered people here (Okay, yeah. There are a few of us who aren't, but for the most part--we are, and I defy you to contradict me on this, Bats), who have the possibility of going rogue and doing a whole lot of damage at any given time. I might be a little scared myself if wasn't... well... me.
But we help. It's why we're here. Why we work together. We're not trying to take over. We just... want to help.
